He was followed by the color guard and a giant Armenian flag carried by scores of youngsters. The flag was followed by regular ranks of hundreds of torchbearers. The general public was to trail the torches. With each step, though, more and more people joined the march and the numbers soon swelled beyond anyone’s expectations. Some of the torches found their way into the crowd, outlining the march and bearing witness to the size of the assembled masses. |
